It’s important to test your website with good page speed tests. Why? Because the faster a page is the faster it will come for your visitor. How many times have you gone to a website and left before the page loaded just because it didn’t load fast enough? That is a lost customer, client, or sale.
The majority of visitors to your website will be using a mobile device. The faster a site loads on mobile, the better.
What is a Page Speed Test?
One of the best places to test a site’s speed and other performance issues is GTMetrix. They use Google’s Web Vitals as well as their own tests. They use a grading system, where A is best and F is worst. In addition, they give you comprehensive details about how or why a site may not be failing.
No one is going to pass every test and no one is going to get an A all the time. That means there is room for improvement, and that’s a good thing. With that said, we aim for at least 90% of the sites we have built or maintained to have at least a B grade.
Page Speed Tests
This is a list of some of the sites we have built and maintained. There is always a bad one in the bunch where a client insisted on a script-heavy page builder, but you live with it, and do what you can to make it as best as it can be.
Out of the seven sites listed here, only two are not grade A. Noted is whether the site was hand-coded or used WordPress as its base. Clicking on the picture will allow you to see the entire image.
